Zero Waste Product

From start to finish our littleseed Extra Virgin Rapeseed Oil is a zero-waste product. We believe when growing and creating our products, every part of the process should be carefully considered to make the most of them.

This always starts from the growing of the rapeseed here on the farm and using local farmers who we know, and trust have the same values as us. 

When we harvest our rapeseed, we leave the shredded straw on the fields which adds more nutrients back into the ground for future crops. We then take the seed and cold press it to make our golden oil. Cold pressing means it keeps all the good nutrients in the oil. Here at littleseed we only use the first press – this is what makes our oil extra virgin. 

Once the seed is pressed, what’s left is still has plenty of nutrients and goodness, so we use this as animal feed.  Any remaining chaff (which is the small, dried husks and stems of the rapeseed) that may have been caught up with the seed is separated out, that will eventually go back onto the fields.

Every single seed is packed full of goodness, for you, the land and the animals, to benefit from!

When you buy a bottle of littleseed oil, we pack and ship using recyclable packaging. Our bottles are also made of glass so can easily be recycled or reused.
