How does an airfryer work?
Unlike a deep fat fryer, where food is submerged in hot oil, an air fryer acts more like a convection oven circulating hot air around the food to cook it. Air fryers are famed for producing perfect golden and crispy food. This is why they are such a popular choice for cooking things like chips and roast potatoes.
Most air fryers have either a tray or basket inside that lets the hot air to flow around food without restriction.

Not always, but often to get the best cooking results using a small amount of oil in your air fryer is recommended. Airfryers use much less oil than traditional cooking methods which is why they are considered to be so much healthier.
What is the best oil to use in an airfryer?
The best oils to use in an air fryer are oils which have a high smoke point and therefore won't burn at high temperatures. Cold pressed rapeseed oil is ideal for using in an airfryer because it has a high smoke point of 220-230°C or 425-445°F
