Why Cold Pressed Oil is best For cooking with
What is the difference between “Cold Pressed” and “Extra Virgin” oils
Not a lot really. Oil that is cold pressed is more often than not Extra Virgin too.
Some people think that Extra Virgin has something to do with olives but that’s not the case. Extra Virgin means oil that ONLY comes from the very FIRST pressing. Any oil type of oil (including rapeseed oil) can be Extra Virgin as long as it comes from the first press.
Cold pressing refers to the process getting the oil from the fruit or seed. To make littleseed we simply squeeze and press the seeds to get the rapeseed oil out. This makes sure we keep hold of the majority of the minerals, vitamins, enzymes and trace elements that make our oil naturally good. We only ever use the oil from the first pressing so littleseed is both Cold Pressed and Extra Virgin. Great hey?
Is cold pressed cooking oil best?
Yes, because cold pressed rapeseed oil naturally retains the most natural goodness and nutrients.
There are other ways to extract more oil from the seed but that involves apply heat and use chemical solvents to extract the oil so it doesn’t retain the same amount of natural goodness. In short, always look for cold pressed on the label and you can be sure you are getting the maximum amount of vitamins, minerals and good fats from your rapeseed oil.
Littleseed Extra Virgin British rapeseed oil is cold pressed for natural goodness.
